Late Nights on Air is a dance performance that explores the problem of binaries. The set design is by Charles Renfro of Diller Scofidio + Renfro. Working closely with Charles, I produced videos projected onto large scrims dividing the stage. We shot commonplace divisions such as suburban fences, and varieties of electrical sockets and plugs, and sourced footage of architectural representations of power in national capitals in order to convey the persistence of similarities within opposites, demonstrating that binaries are not rooted in things themselves but are socially constructed.
